1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SafeGuard ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SafeGuard is a mobile security application that provides antivirus protection, malware detection, and related security features for Android devices. The personal version is provided free of charge.

3. License Grant

Subject to these Terms, SafeGuard grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes on devices you own or control.

You may NOT:

  • Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the App
  • Use the App for commercial purposes without a business license
  • Redistribute or resell the App
  • Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
  • Use the App to develop competing products

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Not use the App to harm others or their devices
  • Keep the App updated to the latest version
  • Provide accurate information when contacting support

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. SAFEGUARD DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT:

  • The App will detect all threats or malware
  • The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The App will be compatible with all devices

No security software can guarantee 100% protection. SafeGuard should be used as part of a comprehensive security strategy.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAFEGUARD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data or files
  • Device damage or malfunction
  • Security breaches or unauthorized access
  • Business interruption or lost profits

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (which is zero for the free personal version).

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Updates and Modifications

SafeGuard may update the App or these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. We recommend keeping the App updated to ensure you have the latest security definitions.

9. Termination

SafeGuard may terminate your license to use the App at any time if you violate these Terms. You may terminate by uninstalling the App. Upon termination, all rights granted to you under these Terms will cease.

10. Business Users

Use of SafeGuard in a business or commercial environment requires a separate business license. Contact business@safeguard.app for enterprise licensing.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Prague, Czech Republic. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have rights under your local consumer protection laws.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
